Codeon has developed software modules that are used to derive critical well parameters such as reservoir pressure from surface data. For dry gas wells the calculation is relatively simple and Codeon offers this free spreadsheet. Assuming that a shut in pressure at wellhead has been measured, it allows you to do the best possible downhole pressure prediction by tuning the gas deviation factors and calculating gas hydrostatics. For gas condensate wells and oil wells the shut in and dynamic calculations are far more complex, since several physical processes take place simultaneously and cannot be taken into account in a simple spreadsheet tool. For these processes you need to use the Codeon Multiflo Simulator, a far more advanced tool, that is used in the field by many operators. |
